- DevicesAndroid 8+Phones, tablets, and TVs and set-top boxes with Android TV.
- Hardware decodingThe device's video chip decodes the picture, not the processor: less heat and battery drain.
- UpdatesNew versions come from Google Play; the player tells you when an update is ready.
Where it helps
The player does not replace a control-room monitor, but it helps when all you have is a phone.
- Remote sitesCheck that the SRT stream reaches the studio before going on air.
- Networks and multicastMake sure a multicast channel is present in the right network segment.
- A screen in the studioAn Android TV set or box shows the programme output or a camera stream.
Good to know
- The player's interface is in English.
- It plays streams at the addresses you give it; there is no channel catalogue. It does not record.
- Multicast over Wi-Fi arrives only if the access point passes it; over a cable (Android TV, boxes) it is more reliable.
