Changelog

What changed in every version, with files to download. Older programs (Transcoder v2 and the previous Prompter) are on live-tv.cloud.

3.4.13

Current
  • If an update check cannot reach the server, the program now says so — "Could not reach the update server" with the reason and the time of the last successful check — instead of "You have the latest version".

3.4.12

  • A group now has a ⋯ menu in its header and a "Restart all" button. The menu holds Autostart and auto-restart for all the group's modules, replace in addresses, duplicate group, move the modules to another group or the top level, export the group with its modules, and remove the group with its modules.
  • Replace in addresses: find and replace text in the inputs, outputs, profiles and parameters of every module in the group. Each change is shown before it is made, with passwords and keys hidden; running modules can be restarted right away, and the replacement can be undone.
  • Exporting a group now saves it with its modules (it used to save an empty group), and import accepts that file. Copies and imported modules are stopped and do not start by themselves.
  • Stopping a module whose Autostart is on now says it will start again the next time the program starts, and offers to turn Autostart off.
  • Duplicating and importing modules respect the licence module limit.
  • The log shows which processes the program ended at start or exit, and the PID of each module's process.

Outdated version. After installation the program will offer to update.

3.4.11

  • The built-in RTMP server is updated to nginx 1.30.6 with modern OpenSSL 3.5. The new version turns on by itself where the RTMP server has never been started; existing settings move to it with a button in the nginx window, and you can switch back there.
  • On the new version's first start Windows may ask to allow nginx through the firewall. If the prompt was dismissed, allow nginx.exe or TCP port 1935 — the nginx window and the RTMP strip show a hint.
  • If a custom nginx.conf contains outdated settings (such as ssl on;), the program says what to fix and leaves the server unchanged.

3.4.10

  • The package is about 26 MB smaller: the built-in video player no longer carries modules the program never uses (recording and streaming through the player, visualisations, discs, network file systems). Playback of files, SRT, UDP, RTP, RTMP, RTSP and HLS is unchanged.

Outdated version. After installation the program will offer to update.

3.4.9

  • A fractional or quoted number in a module's settings (such as 5.0 or "25") no longer causes the rest of the module's settings to be lost, including its source addresses and group.
  • In the dark theme the playout broadcast-day strip has a dark background.
  • On new installations the built-in RTMP server's HTTP port 81 (the /stat page and HLS) answers only on this computer; RTMP ingest on port 1935 stays open as before. Existing nginx settings are not changed. The help explains how to open the port to the network.
  • The MSI installer shows the licence terms.

Outdated version. After installation the program will offer to update.

3.4.8

  • Third-party files that were installed with the RTMP server and reachable on the network at port 81 (demo players, someone else's settings and recordings) are no longer shipped. Copies an earlier version placed in the data folder are removed automatically unless they were edited.
  • A smaller package: no 32-bit copy of the video player and no unused FFmpeg 6.0 libraries.
  • The About window shows the licensor and links to the licence terms, privacy policy and third-party components. The program folder contains THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt.
  • A one-time reminder about the licence terms appears in the module list. It never stops modules.
  • A new installation starts in the system language.
  • Playout reports show local time and translated results; the "today" grid starts at the channel's broadcast day start.
  • The clock on the branding canvas runs in the layer's time zone; a fractional number in graphics settings no longer breaks the layer list.
  • Profile editor: readable names for the bitrate mode, container and audio codec; empty width and height are shown as "same as source".
  • The status bar counts modules only, not groups. In the dark theme the "Diagnostics" and "Today's grid" headers are readable.

  • The About window lists two sites: easycaster.net — the program’s site — and live-tv.cloud.
  • In the module list, a group header is aligned with the module rows under it.

3.4.5

  • The playout database is included in the scheduled backup again; before, only the configuration was copied.
  • Deleting a group no longer hides its modules: they stay in the list.
  • A deleted module no longer stays behind as a row in its group.
  • In modules without FFmpeg (for example, srt-live-transmit) the running time no longer stops at 00:00:00.
  • NVIDIA graphics cards are labelled “NVIDIA #N” in FFmpeg numbering; a tooltip explains why the number may differ from Task Manager.

3.4.0

  • The program checks for updates itself: an “Update available” window with the list of changes and a badge in the status bar. Nothing is installed without your consent.
  • During an update, running modules and the RTMP server stop for about a minute with your consent and start again.
  • Installs without administrator rights; the program removes the previous version on first start (Windows may ask for permission), modules and settings are kept.
  • Scheduled module restarts follow local time.
